24. "Up to this time you have not asked a (single) thing in My Name, (as presenting all that I AM); but now ask and keep on asking, and you will receive from the Father, so that your joy (gladness, delight), may be full and complete.

6. For word came to the king of Nineveh (of all that had happened to Jonah, and his terrifying message from God), and he arose from his throne and he laid his robe aside, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. 

7. And he made a proclamation and had it published through Nineveh. By the decree of the king and his nobles: "Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything: let them not feed nor drink water.

8. "But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, en let them cry mightily to God. Yes, let every one turn from his evil way and violence that is in his hands."

7. En hy het in Ninevé laat uitroep en sê: "Op las van die koning en sy manne,  - geen mens of dier, beeste of kleinvee, mag aan iets proe nie, hullle mag nie wei of water dtink nie;

8. "Maar mens en dier moet 'n rougewaad om hê, en hulle moet ernstig tot God roep, en elkeen moet hom van sy verkeerde weg bekeer, en van die onreg wat aan sy hande kleef."
