WORD OF THE DAY:
(Matthew 7:7)
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
MESSAGE OF THE DAY:
A PERSONAL WORD BY ORAL ROBERTS ABOUT THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW:
"It's important to your understanding Matthew's Gospel, to remember that Matthew was a Jew, a son of Abraham and of the Old Covenant - and that he wrote of Jesus in a way that Israel, God's covenant people, could start with their father Abraham. Then come all the way through the generations to Jesus' birth and life, and see that HE IS THE SON OF GOD, - the long awaited Messiah, that Abraham - by faith, had seen coming to His people.
"You will also enjoy Matthew's account of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, the greatest teaching the world has ever known, by UNDERSTANDING WHY Jesus gave it. He gave it in order to reveal the principles behind the rules and regulations, and the Ten Commandments, under the law of Moses. It is by those principles that we live our faith.
"Finally and very importantly, one of the most notable things Matthew does is: to show Jesus, born under the Old Covenant, restoring the miracles to it. Also showing us that if God did such mighty miracles under the Old Covenant, how much more would He do miracles under the New Covenant - which Jesus would bring into being through His sacrificial death on the cross!
"The Gospel according to Matthew is very important to you!"
