WORD OF THE DAY:
(Isaiah 40:5)
And the glory (majesty and splendour) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord Has spoken it.
MESSAGE OF THE DAY:
THE NAME OF JESUS FORBIDDEN:
(Acts 4:13-23)
13. Now when they saw the boldness and unfettered eloquence of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and untrained in the schools (common men with no educational advantages), they marvelled; and they recognized that they had been with Jesus.
14. And since they saw the man who had been cured standing there beside them, they could not contradict the fact, or say anything in opposition.
15. But having ordered (the prisoners) to go aside out of the council (chamber), they conferred (debated) among themselves,
16. Saying: "What are we to do with these men? For that an extraordinary miracle has been performed by (through) them, is plain to all the residents of Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.
17. "But in order that it may not spread further among the people and the nation, let us warn and forbid them with a stern threat, to speak anymore to anyone in this Name (or about this Person)."
18. (So) they summoned them and imperatively instructed them not to converse in any way or teach at all in or about the Name of Jesus.
19. But Peter and John replied to them: "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you and to obey you rather than God, you must decide (judge).
20. "But we (ourselves) cannot help telling what we have seen and heard."
21. Then, when the (rulers and council members) had further threatened them, they let them go, not seeing how they could secure a conviction against them because of the people; for everybody was praising and glorifying God for what had occurred.
22. For the man on whom this sign (miracle) of healing was performed, was more than forty years old.
23. After they were permitted to go, (the apostles) returned to their own (company), and told all that the chief priests and elders had said to them.

WOORD VAN DIE DAG:

En die heerlikheid van die Here sal geopenbaar word, en alle vlees tesame sal dit sien: want die mond van die Here het dit gespreek.
BOODSKAP VAN DIE DAG:
DIE NAAM VAN JESUS VERBIED:
(Handelinge 4:13-23)
13. En toe hulle die vrymoedigheid van Petrus en Johannes sien, en verstaan dat hulle ongeleerde en eenvoudige mense was, was hulle verwonderd, en het hulle as metgeselle van Jesus herken.
14. En omdat hulle die man wat genees was by hulle sien staan, kon hulle niks daarvan sê nie.
15. Hulle het hul toe gelas om buitekant die Raad te gaan, en met mekaar beraadslaag -
16. En gesê: "Wat moet ons met hierdie mense doen? Want dat daar 'n kenlike teken deur hulle plaasgevind het, is duidelik vir al die inwoners van Jerusalem; ons kan dit nie ontken nie.
17. "Maar dat dit nie nog meer onder die volk versprei word nie, laat ons hulle dreig om nie meer in hierdie Naam met enige mens te spreek nie."
18. En hulle het hul geroep en hulle bevel gegee om in geheel nie in die Naam van Jesus te spreek, of te leer nie.
19. Toe antwoord Petrus en Johannes en sê vir hulle: "Of dit reg is voor God om julle meer gehoorsaam te wees as God, moet julle self beslis;
20. "Want vir ons is dit onmoontlik om nie te spreek oor wat ons gesien en gehoor het nie."
21. En nadat hulle nog dreigemente bygevoeg het, aangesien hulle geen rede kon vind om hulle te straf nie, het hulle ter wille van die volk hulle losgelaat, want almal het God verheerlik oor wat gebeur het.
22. Want die man aan wie hierdie teken van genesing plaasgevind het, was meer as veertig jaar oud.
23. En nadat hulle losgelaat was, het hulle na hulle eie mense gegaan en alles vertel wat die owerpriesters en die ouderlinge aan hulle gesê het.
(God willing and by His marvellous grace and mercy I will share the Word with you, as often as I possibly can. /
As dit die wil van God is en deur Sy wonderbare genade en barmhartigheid sal ek die Woord met u deel, so dikwels as wat ek moontlik kan.)
