WALK IN THE LIGHT / WANDEL IN DIE LIG

30 August 2013
WALK IN THE LIGHT:
1. English - (NIV Translation)
[John 12:35-36]
35. Then Jesus told them: "You are going to have the Light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the Light, before darkness overtakes you. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.
36. "Put your trust in the Light while you have it, so that you may become sons of Light." When He had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid Himself from them.

WANDEL IN DIE LIG:
2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse vertaling)
[Johannes 12:35-36]

JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD/JESUS IS DIE LIG VAN DIE WÊRELD.

JESUS IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD:
1. English - (NIV Translation.)
[John 1:1-5]
1. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God,
2. He was with God in the beginning.
3. Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.
4. In Him was life, and that Life was the Light of men.
5. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.
[John 3:19-21]
19. "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of Light because their deeds were evil.
20. "Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and will not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed.
21. "But whoever lives by the truth comes into the the Light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God."
[John 8:12]
When Jesus spoke again to the people, He said: "I Am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life."

JESUS IS DIE LIG VAN DIE WÊRELD:
2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Johannes  1:1-5]
2. Hy was in die begin by God.

DIE HERE IS MY HERDER. (Psalm 23)

28 Augustus 2013.
DIE HERE IS MY HERDER.
DEEL 4.
2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Psalm 23:1-6, Openbaringe 7:17, Esegiël 34:22,23, Jesaja 25:8, 2 Timótheüs 1:10]

Psalm 23:1-6
1. Die Here is my Herder; niks sal my ontbreek nie.
2. Hy laat my neerlê in groen weivelde; na waters waar rus is, lei Hy my heen.
3. Hy verkwik my siel; Hy lei my in die spore van geregtigheid, om Sy Naam ontwil.
4. Al gaan ek ook in 'n dal van doodskaduwee, ek sal geen onheil vrees nie; want U is met my: U stok en U staf díe vertroos my.
5. U berei die tafel voor my aangesig teenoor my teëstanders; U maak my hoof vet met olie; my beker loop oor.
6. Net goedheid en guns sal my volg al die dae van my lewe; en ek sal in die huis van die Here bly in lengte van dae.
Openbaringe 7:17

THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD - Psalm 23.

27 August 2013
(THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD) -
PART 4.
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
[Psalm 23:1-6, Revelation 7:17, Ezekiel 34:22-23, Isaiah 25:8, 2 Timothy 1:10]
1. The Lord is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me,] I shall not lack.
2. He makes me lie down on [fresh, tender,] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.
3. He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him - not for my earning it, but] for His Name's sake.
4. Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.
5. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.
6. Surely only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.
[Revelation 7:17]
For the Lamb Who is in the midst of the throne will be their Shepherd, and He will guide them to the springs of the waters of life; and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
[Ezekiel 34:22-23]
22. Therefore I will rescue My flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
23. And I will raise up over them one Shepherd and He shall feed them, even My servant David: He shall feed them and He shall be their Shepherd.
[Isaiah 25:8]
He will swallow up death [in victory; He will abolish death forever]. And the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces; and the reproach of His people He will take away from all the earth; for the Lord Has spoken it.
2 Timothy 1:10
[It is that purpose and grace] which He now has made known and has fully disclosed and made real [to us] through the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Who annulled death and made it of no effect and brought life and immortality [immunity from eternal death] to light through the Gospel.

26. "But you do not believe because you are not My sheep.
27. "My sheep listen to My voice; I know them and they follow Me.
28. "I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of My hand.

27. "My skape luister na My stem, en Ek ken hulle, en hulle volg My.

JESUS THE GOOD SHEPHERD/JESUS DIE GOEIE HERDER.:

25 August 2013.
(JESUS THE GOOD SHEPHERD -
Part 2.)
1. English - (NKJ Translation)
[John 10:11-17]
11. "I Am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep.
12. "But he who is a hireling and not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep an scatters them.
13. "The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep.
14. "I Am the Good Shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.
15. "As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father, and I lay My life down for the sheep.
16. "And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one Shepherd.
17. "Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, that I may take it again."
(Part 3 will follow tomorrow)

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Johannes 10:11-17]
(JESUS DIE GOEIE HERDER - gedeelte 2.)
14. Ek is die Goeie Herder, en Ek ken My eie en word deur My eie geken.
15. Net soos die Vader My ken, ken Ek ook die Vader; en Ek lê My lewe af vir die skape.
17. Daarom het die Vader My lief, omdat Ek My lewe aflê om dit weer te neem.

JESUS, THE GOOD SHEPHERD (Jehovah Raäh) / JESUS DIE GOEIE HERDER.

24 August 2013. (JESUS THE GOOD SHEPHERD - PART 1)
1. English - (NIV Translation)
[John 10:1-10]
1. "I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.
2. "The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.
3. "The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
4. "When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
5. "But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because the do not recognise a stranger's voice."
6. Jesus used this figure of speech, because they did not understand what He was telling them.
7. Therefore Jesus said again: "I Am the gate for the sheep.
8. "All who came before Me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9. I Am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved. He will come in and out and find pasture.
10. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full.
(Part 2 will follow tomorrow)

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse vertaling)
[Johannes 10:1-10)

GOD WILL NOT ALLOW US TO BE TEMPTED BEYOND WHAT WE ARE ABLE/GOD SAL NIE TOELAAT DAT ONS BO ONS KRAGTE VERSOEK WORD NIE.

23 August 2013.
1. English - (NKJ Translation)
[1 Corinthians 10:13]
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, Who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)

EVERY FIRSTBORN MALE WHO OPEN THE WOMB, BELONG TO GOD/ELKE EERSGEBORE MANLIKE KIND WAT DIE MOEDERSKOOT OPEN, BEHOORT AAN GOD:

22 August 2013
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
[Exodus 13:1-2]
1. The Lord said to Moses:
2. Sanctify (consecrate, set apart) to Me all the firstborn [males]: whatever is first to open the womb among the Israelites, both of man and beast, is Mine.
[Exodus 13:12]
You shall set apart to the Lord all that first opens the womb. All the firstlings of your livestock that are males shall be the Lord's.
[Exodus 34:19-20]
19. All the males that first open the womb among your livestock are Mine, whether ox or sheep.
20. But the firstlings of a donkey [an unclean beast] you shall redeem with a lamb or kid, and if you do not redeem it, then you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. And none of you shall appear before Me empty-handed.
[Leviticus 27:26]
But the firstlings of the animals, since a firstling belongs to the Lord, no man may dedicate, whether it be ox or sheep. It is the Lord's [already].
[Numbers 3:13]
For all the firstborn are Mine. On the day that I slew all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated for Myself all the firstborn in Israel, both man and beast; Mine they shall be. I Am the Lord.
[Numbers 8:17]
For the firstborn of the Israelites are Mine, both of man and beast; on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt [not of Israel], I consecrated them and set them apart for Myself.
[Luke 2:22-23]
22. And when the time came for their purification [the mother's purification and
The Baby's dedication] came according to the Law of Moses, they brought Him [Jesus] up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord.
23. As it is written in the Law of the Lord.
Every [firstborn] male that opens the womb shall be set apart and dedicated and called holy to the Lord.

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling):
[Eksodus 13:1-2]
[Eksodus 34::19-20]
My geheilig, mense sowel as diere; hulle moet Myne wees. Ek is die Here.
23. Soos geskrywe is in die Wet van die Here: Elke manlike kind wat die moederskoot open, sal heilig vir die Here genoem word.

GOD TURNED THE SHADOW ON THE SUNDIAL TEN STEPS BACKWARDS/ GOD LAAT DIE SONNEWYSER TIEN GRADE TERUGGAAN:

21 August 2013.
1. English - (NIV Translation)
[Isaiah 38:1-8]
1. In those days Hezekiah became ill and he was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah, son of Amoz went to him and said: "This is what the Lord says: put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover."
2. Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord:
3. Remember, O Lord, how I have walked before You faithfully and with wholehearted devotion, and have done what is good in your eyes." And Hezekiah wept bitterly.
4. Then the Word of the Lord came to Isaiah:
5. "Go and tell Hezekiah: 'This is what the Lord, the God of your father David says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will add fifteen years to your life.'"
6. "'And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend this city.
7. "'This is the Lord's sign to you, that the Lord will do what He Has promised:
8. "'I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.'" So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.

(This is of course to nullify and cancel what God had said to Hezekiah before.)

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Jesaja 38:1-8]
5. "Gaan sê vir Hiskia: 'So spreek die Here, die God van jou vader Dawid: Ek het jou gebed gehoor en jou trane gesien; Kyk, Ek sal vyftien jaar by jou dae byvoeg.

THE SUN AND THE MOON STOOD STILL/DIE SON EN MAAN HET STILGESTAAN;

20 August 2013
1. English - (NIV Translation)
[Joshua 11-14]
11. As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them from the sky, and more of them died from the hailstones than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.
12. On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel: "O sun, stand still over Gibeon, o moon, over the Valley of Aijalon."
13. So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.
14. There has never been a day like it before or since, the day when the Lord listened to a man. Surely, the Lord was fighting for Israel!

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Joshua 10:11-14]

JESUS, OUR DELIVERER:

19 August 2013.
1. English - (NIV Translation.)
[Mark 5:18-20]
18. As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with Him.
19. Jesus did not let him, but said: "Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord Has done for you, and how He Has had mercy on you."
20. So the man went away and began to tell in the Decapolis how much Jesus had done for him. And all the people were amazed.

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling).
[Markus 5:18-20]

OUR FATHER WHO IS IN HEAVEN:/ ONSE VADER WAT IN DIE HEMEL IS:

18 August 2013.
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
[Matthew 6:6-13]. JESUS SAID:
6. "But when you pray, go into your [most] private room, and, closing the door, pray to your Father, Who is in secret; and your Father, Who sees in secret, will reward you in the open.
7. And when you pray, do not heap up phrases [multiply words, repeating the same ones over and over] as the gentiles do, for they think they will be heard for their much speaking.
8. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him.
9. Pray therefore like this: 'Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed [kept holy] be Your Name.
10. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
11. Give us this day our daily bread.
12. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven [left, remitted, and let go of the debts, and have given up resentment against] our debtors.
13. And lead, [bring] us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.'

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Matthéüs 6:6-13] JESUS HET GESÊ:
9. Só moet julle dan bid: 'Onse Vader wat in die hemele is, laat U Naam geheilig word;
10. Laat U koninkryk kom, laat U wil geskied, soos in die hemel net so ook op die aarde;
11. Gee ons vandag ons daaglikse brood;
12. En vergeef ons, ons skulde, soos ons ook ons skuldenaars vergewe;
Amen.'

A CURSE WITHOUT A CAUSE:

A CURSE WITHOUT A CAUSE:
17 August 2013.
1. English - (Different translations)
[Proverbs 26:2]
NIV Translation:
Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.
NKJ Translation:
Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying swallow, so a curse without cause shall not alight.
AMPLIFIED BIBLE VERSION:
(More direct translation from the original Greek and Hebrew text):
Like a sparrow in her wandering, like a swallow in her flying, so the causeless curse does not alight.
[Numbers 23:8]
How can I curse those whom God Has not cursed? Or how can I (violently) denounce those whom the Lord Has not denounced?

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling):
'n VERVLOEKING SONDER REDE:

ANOTHER THING THAT GOD HATES:

ANOTHER THING THAT GOD HATES:
16 August 2013.
1. (English - NIV Translation)
[Malachi 2:14-16]
14. You ask "Why." It is because the Lord is acting as a witness between you and the wife of your youth, because you have broken faith with her, though she is your partner, the wife of your marriage covenant.
15. Has not [the Lord] made them one? In flesh and spirit they are His. And why one? Because He was seeking Godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.
16. "I hate divorce," says the Lord God of Israel: "And I hate a man's covering himself with violence as well as with his garment," says the Lord Almighty. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith.

2. (Afrikaans - Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling:)
[Maleági 2:14-16]

15 August 2013.
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
[Proverbs 6:16-19]
16. These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him.
17. A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.
18. A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil.
19. A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren.

DINGE WAT GOD HAAT:
2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Spreuke 6:16-19]

JESUS HEALED MANY OF DISTRESSING BODILY DISEASES.

14 August 2013.
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
JESUS HEALED MANY:
[Mark 3:9-12]
9. And He told His disciples to have a little boat in [constant] readiness for Him because of the crowd, lest they press hard upon Him and crush Him.
10. For He had healed so many that all who had distressing bodily diseases kept falling upon Him and pressing upon Him in order that they might touch Him.
11. And the spirits, the unclean ones, as often as they might see Him, fell down before Him and kept screaming out: You are the Son of God!
12. And He charged them strictly and severely under penalty again and again that they should not make Him known.

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse  Vertaling)
JESUS HET 'N MENIGTE GESOND GEMAAK:
[Markus 3:9-12]

ARE YOU ASHAMED OF JESUS?:

13 August 2013
1. English:  (Amplified Bible Version)
[Luke 9:25-26]
25. For what does it profit a man, if he gains the whole world and ruins or forfeits (loses) himself?
26. Because whoever is ashamed of Me and of My teachings, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in His [threefold] glory (the splendour and majesty) of Himself and of the Father and of the holy angels.

IS JY SKAAM OM JESUS TE BELEI?:
2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse vertaling):
[Lukas 9:25-26]

WORDS OF WISDOM:

12 August 2013.
WORDS OF WISDOM:
Promise to yourself:
* To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
* To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
* To make your friends feel that there is something in them.
* To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
* To think only of the best, work only for the best and to expect only the best.
* To forget the mistakes of the past and to press on to greater achievement of the future.
* To wear a cheerful countenance at all time.
* To give much time to the improvement of yourself, so that you have no time to criticize others.
* To be too large to worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
* To live in the faith that the world is on your side as long as you are true to God and the highest within you. (Christian D. Larson).
Consult not your fears, but your hopes and your dreams; think not about your frustrations but about your unfulfilled potentials. Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but what is still possible for you to do.
* Only you, a person can make you feel high, a person can make you feel low. Only you can decide which way you want to go. A person can hurt you mentally, a person can hurt you physically - but only you can place a limit on your abilities.

WORD OF THE DAY:

TO KNOW AND UNDERSTAND GOD:
11 August 2013
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version) [Jeremiah 9:23-24]
23. Thus says the Lord: "Let not the wise and skillful person glory and boast in his wisdom and skill; let not the mighty and powerful person glory and boast in his strength and power; let not the person who is rich [in physical gratification and earthly wealth] glory and boast in his [temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches.
24. "But let him who glories, glory in this: that he understands and knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and recognizing My character], that I Am the Lord, Who practices loving-kindness, judgement and righteousness in the earth, for in these things I delight," says the Lord.

OM GOD TE KEN EN VERSTAAN:
2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Jeremia 9:23-24]
23. So sê die Here: "Laat die wyse hom nie beroem op sy wysheid nie, en laat die sterke hom nie beroem op sy sterkte nie, laat die ryke hom nie beroem op sy rykdom nie;
24. "Maar laat hy wat wil roem, hom hierop beroem dat hy verstaan en My ken, dat Ek die Here is wat goedertierenheid, reg en geregtigheid op die aarde doen; want in díe dinge het Ek 'n behae," spreek die Here.

10 August 2013.
1. English - (NKJ Translation.)
[Mark 11:23-24]
23. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says.
24. "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

2. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Markus 11:23,24]

WORD OF THE DAY: 8 August 2013

1. (English - NIV Translation)
[Psalm 139:1-6]
1. O Lord, You have searched me and You know me.
2. You know when I sit and when I rise;
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
3. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
4. Before a word is on my tongue You know it completely, O Lord.
5. You hem me in - behind and before; You have laid Your hand upon me.
6. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.

2. (Afrikaans - Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)
[Psalm 139:1-6]
1. Here, U deurgrond en ken my.
2. U ken my sit en opstaan; U verstaan van ver my gedagte.
3. U deurvors my gaan en my lê, en U is met al my weë goed bekend.
4. Want daar is nog geen woord op my tong nie - of U Here, U ken dit geheel en al.
5. U sluit my in van agter en van voor, en U lê U hand op my.
6. Om dit te begryp, is te wonderbaar vir my, te hoog: ek kan daar nie by nie.

WORD OF THE DAY: 7 August 2013

KEEP ON ASKING:
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
{Matthew 7:7-11} Jesus said:
7. "Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.
8. For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [the door] will be opened.
9. Or what man is there of you, if his son asks him a loaf of bread, will hand him a stone?
10. Or if he asks for a fish, will hand him a serpent?
11. If you then, evil as you are, know how to give good and advantageous gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in heaven [perfect as He is] give good and advantageous things to those who keep on asking Him!

HOU AAN VRA:
2. Afrikaans - Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling:
{Matthéüs 7:7-11}  Jesus het gesê:
9. Of watter mens is daar onder julle wat, as sy seun hom brood vra, aan hom 'n klip sal gee;
10. En as hy 'n vis vra, aan hom 'n slang sal gee?

WORD OF THE DAY: 5 August 2013

1. (English - NIV Translation)
[Matthew 18:5-6]
5. And whoever welcomes a little child like this in My Name welcomes Me.
6. But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to drown in the depth of the sea.

2. (Afrikaans -Ou Afrikaanse vertaling)
[Matthéüs 18:5-6]
5. En elkeen wat sulke kindertjies in My Naam ontvang, ontvang My;

19. He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear His voice on the streets.
20. A bruised reed He will not break, and a smouldering wick He will not snuff out, till He leads justice to victory.
21. In His Name the nations will put their hope."

2. Afrikaans [Ou Afrikaanse vertaling]
18." Kyk, My Kneg wat Ek uitverkies het, My Geliefde in Wie My siel 'n welbehae het!
