WORD OF THE DAY:

[Isaiah 60:19]

The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you; for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. 

MESSAGE OF THE DAY:

[Isaiah 61:1-3]

1. "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on Me, because the Lord Has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor. He Has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners;

2. "To proclaim the year of the Lord's favour, and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. 

3. "And provide for those who grieve in Zion - to bestow on them a crown of beauty in stead of ashes, the oil of gladness in stead of mourning, and a garment of praise in stead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendour."

Thus we see, that Jesus came to free and deliver us from oppression, brokenness of heart and anxiety. All these things can rob us from our enheritance of the Kingdom of God. 

The devil is mercilessly and ruthlessly busy stealing from us, what is our rightful inheritance in Jesus Christ. 

We must never close our eyes to the cunning devices and lies of satan. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly."

We also read the following warning in 1Peter 5:8-9a:

8. "Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour."

9a. "Resist him, standing firm in the faith."

WOORD VAN DIE DAG:

[Jesaja 60:19]

Die son sal bedags jou lig nie meer wees nie, en as glans sal die maan vir jou geen skynsel gee nie; maar die Here sal vir jou wees 'n ewige lig, en jou God sal jou sieraad wees. 

BOODSKAP VAN DIE DAG:

[Jesaja 61:1-3]

1. "Die Gees van die Here is op My, omdat die Here My gesalf het om 'n blye boodskap te bring aan die ootmoediges; Hy het My gestuur om te verbind die gebrokenes van hart, om vir die gevangenes 'n vrylating uit te roep en vir die geboeides opening van die gevangenis;

2. Om uit te roep 'n jaar van die welbehae van die Here en 'n dag van die wraak van onse God; om al die treurendes te troos;

3. Om vir die treurendes in Sion te beskik dat aan hulle gegee word sieraad vir as, vreugde-olie vir treurigheid, 'n gewaad van lof vir 'n verslae gees; sodat hulle genoem kan word terebinte van geregtigheid, 'n planting van die Here, tot Sy verheerliking. 

Ons kan dus sien dat Jesus gekom het om ons te bevry en te verlos van verdrukking, gebrokenheid van hart en benoudheid. Al hierdie dinge kan ons beroof van ons erfenis van die Koninkryk van God. 

Die duiwel gaan meedoënloos en genadeloos voort om van ons te steel wat ons regmatige eiendom in Jesus is. Ons moet nooit ons oë toemaak vir die liste en leuens van satan nie want: Jesus sê in Johannes 10:10: "Die dief kom net om te steel en te slag en te verwoes, Ek het gekom dat julle lewe in oorvloed kan hê." 

Ons lees ook die volgende waarskuwing in 1 Petrus 5:8-9a:

8. "Wees nugter en waaksaam, want julle teëstander die duiwel, loop rond soos 'n brullende leeu en soek wie hy kan verslind."

9a. "Hom moet julle teëstaan, standvastig in die geloof."
