[2 Corinthians 17-18]

17. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (emancipation from bondage, freedom).

18. And all of us, as wirh unveiled face, (because we) continued to behold (in the Word of God) as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendour and from one degree of glory to another; (for this comes) from the Lord (Who is) the Spirit.

Part 2.

1. English - (Amplified Bible Version) 

[John 6:11-15]

11. Jesus took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to the reclining people; so also (He did) with the fish, as much as they wanted. 

12. When they had all had enpugh, He said to His disciples: "Gather up now the fragments (the broken pieces that are left over), so that nothing may be lost and wasted."

13. So accordingly they gathered them up, and they filled twelve (small hand) baskets with fragments left over by those who had eaten from the five barley loaves. 

14. When the people saw the sign (miracle) that Jesus had performed, they began saying: "Surely and beyond a doubt this is the Prophet Who is to come into the world!"

15. Then Jesus, knowing that they meant to come and seize Him that they might make Him king, withdrew again to the hillside, by Himself alone.

WOORD VAN DIE DAG:

[2 Korintiërs 3:17-18]

17. Die Here is die Gees, en waar die Gees van die Here is, daar is vryheid. 

18. En terwyl ons almal met onbedekte gesig soos in 'n spieël die heerlikheid van die Here aanskou, word ons van gedaante verander na dieselfde beeld, van heerlikheid tot heerlikheid, as deur die Here wat die Gees is. 

BOODSKAP VAN DIE DAG:

[Johannes 6:11-15]

11. En Jesus het die brode geneem, en nadat Hy gedank het, deel Hy dit uit aan die dissipels en die dissipels aan die wat daar sit; so ook van die vissies, soveel as hulle wou hê. 

12. En nadat hulle versadig was, sê Hy vir Sy dissipels: "Maak die brokstukke bymekaar wat oorgeskiet het, sodat niks verlore gaan nie."

13. Hulle maak toe bymekaar en het twaalf mandjies gevul met brokstukke van die vyf garsbrode, wat oorgeskiet het by die  wat geëet het. 

14. Toe die mense dan die teken sien wat Jesus gedoen het, sê hulle: "Hy is waarlik die Profeet wat in die wêreld sou kom."

15. En toe Jesus merk dat hulle wou kom en Hom met geweld neem om Hom koning te maak, het Hy weggegaan na die berg, Hy alleen.

Part 1.

1. English - (Amplified Bible Version) 

[John 6:1-10]

1. After this, Jesus went to the farther side of the Sea of Galilee -- that is, the Sea of Tiberias. 

2. And a great crowd was following Him, because they had seen the signs (miracles) which He (continually) performed upon those who were sick. 

3. And Jesus walked up the mountainside and sat down there with His disciples.  

4. Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews was approaching. 

5. Jesus looked up then, and seeing that a vast multitude was coming toward Him, said to Philip: "Where are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?"

6. But He said this to prove (test) him, for He well knew what He was about to do. 

7. Philip answered Him: "Two hundred pennies (forty dollars) worth of bread is not enough that everyone may receive even a little."

8. Another of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, said to Him:

9. "There is a little boy here, who has (with him) 5 barley loaves, and two small fish; but what are they among so many people?" 

10. Jesus said: "Make all the people recline (sit down). Now the ground (a pasture) was covered with thick grass at the spot, so the men threw themselves down, about five thousand in number.

Wees oor niks besorg nie, maar laat julle begeertes in alles deur gebed en smeking, met danksegging bekend word by God.

Deel 1.

3. Afrikaans - (Ou Afrikaanse Vertaling)

[Johannes 6:1-10]

1. Daarna het Jesus na die oorkant van die See van Galiléa, dit is, van Tibérias, gegaan;

2. En 'n groot menigte het Hom gevolg, omdat hulle Sy tekens gesien het wat Hy aan die siekes doen. 

3. En Jesus het op die berg geklim en daar met Sy dissipels gaan sit,  

4. En die Pasga, die fees van die Jode, was naby. 

5. Toe Jesus dan Sy oë opslaan en sien dat 'n groot menigte na Hom kom, sê Hy vir Filippus: "Waarvandaan sal ons brood koop, sodat hierdie mense kan eet?"

6. Maar Hy het dit gesê om hom op die proef te stel, want Hy het self geweet wat Hy wou doen. 

7. Filippus antwoord Hom: "Brood vir twee honderd pennings sal nie genoeg wees vir hulle, sodat elkeen van hulle 'n stukkie kan kry nie."

8. Een van Sy dissipels, Andréas, Simon Petrus se broer, sê vir Hom:

9. "Hier is 'n seuntjie wat vyf garsbrode en twee vissies het, maar wat is dit vir so baie mense?"

10. En Jesus sê: "Laat die mense gaan sit." En daar was baie gras op die plek. Die manne het toe gaan sit, omtrent vyf duisend in getal.

WORD OF THE DAY:

[Ephesians 3:20-21]

20. Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the (action of His) power that is at work within us, is able to (carry out His purpose and) do superabundantly, far over and above all that we (dare) ask or think (infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams) -- 

21. To Him be glory in the Church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

JESUS RAISES THE SON OF A WIDOW:

[Luke 7:11-17]

11. Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and His disciples and a great throng accompanied Him. 

12. (Just) as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out -- the only son of a mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was accompanying her. 

13. And when the Lord saw her, He had compasssion on her and said to her: "Do not weep."

14. And He went forward and touched the funeral bier, and the pallbearers stood still. And He said:  "Young man, I say to you, arise (from death)!"

15. And the man (who was) dead, sat up and began to speak. And (Jesus) gave him back to his mother. 

16. Profound and reverent fear seized them all, and they began to recognize God and praise and gave thanks, saying: "A great Prophet has appeared among us! And God Has visited His people (in order to help and care for, and provide for them!)

17. And this report concerning (Jesus) spread through the whole of Judea and all the country round about.

WOORD VAN DIE DAG:

20.En aan Hom wat mag het om te doen ver bo alles wat ons bid of dink, volgens die krag wat in ons werk,

21. Aan hom die heerlikheid in die gemeente in Christus Jesus deur alle geslagte, tot in ewigheid! Amen. (So sal dit wees).

THE PERSISTENT WIDOW:

1. English - (New International Version).

[Luke 18:1-8]

1. Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and never give up. 

2. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. 

3. "And there was a widow in that town who kept on coming to him with a plea: 'Grant me justice against my adversary.'

4. "For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself: 'Even though I don't fear God, or care about men, 

5. "'Yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!'"

6. And the Lord said: "Listen to what the unjust judge says: 

7. "And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off? 

8. "I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

But I will sing of Your mighty strength and power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy and loving-kindness in the morning; for You have been to me a defense (a fortress and a high tower) and a refuge in the day of my distress.

FAITH LIKE A MUSTARD SEED:

[Luke 17:5-6]

5. The apostles said to the Lord: "Increase our faith."  (That trust and confidence that spring from our belief in God). 

6. And the Lord answered: "If you had faith (trust and confidence in God) even (so small) like a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree: 'Be pulled up by the roots, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."

He said to them: "Because of the littleness of your faith, (that is your lack of firmly relying trust). 1. And (Jesus) said to His disciples: "Temptations (snares, traps set to entice to sin) are sure to come, but woe to him by or through whom they come! 

2. "It would be more profitable for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were hurled into the sea, than that he would cause to sin or be a snare to one of these little ones (lowly in rank of influence).

3. "Pay attention and always be on your guard (looking out for one another). If your brother sins (misses the mark), solemnly tell him so and reprove him, and if he repents (feels sorry for having sinned), forgive him.

A BLIND MAN RECEIVES HIS SIGHT:

[Luke 18:35-43]

35. Then it happened, that as He was coming near Jericho, that a certain blind man sat by the road begging. 

36. And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what it meant. 

37. So they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by. 

38. And he cried out, saying: "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"

39. Then those who went before Him, warned that he should be quiet; but he cried out all the more: "Son of David, have mercy on me!"

40. So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be brought to Him. And when he had come near, He asked him,

41. Saying: "What do you want Me to do for you?" And he said: 'Lord, that I may receive my sight.'

42. Then Jesus said to him: "Receive your sight, your faith has saved you."
