PSALM 40, second section. / tweede gedeelte.

WORD OF THE DAY:

[Psalm 88:1,2]

1. O Lord, God of my salvation, I have cried out day and night before You. 

2. Let my prayer come before You; incline Your ear to my cry. 

MESSAGE OF THE DAY:

PSALM 40, second section...

1. English - (Amplified Bible Version).

(Psalm 40:9-17)

9. I have proclaimed glad tidings of righteousness in the great assembly (tidings of uprightness  and right standing with God). Behold, I have not restrained My lips, as You know, O Lord.  

10. I have not concealed Your righteousness within My heart; I have proclaimed Your faithfulness and Your salvation. I have not hid away Your steadfast love and Your truth from the great assembly. 

11. Withhold not Your tender mercy from Me, O Lord; let Your loving kindness and Your truth continually preserve Me!

12. For innumerable evils have compassed Me about; My iniquities have taken such hold on Me, that I am not able to look up. They are more than the hairs of My head, and My heart has failed Me and forsaken Me. 

13. Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver Me; O Lord, make haste to help Me!

14. Let them be put to shame and confounded together who seek and require My life, to destroy it; let them be driven backward and brought to dishonour who wish Me evil and delight in My hurt!  

15. Let them be desolate by reason of their shame, who say to me: "Aha, aha!"

16. Let all those who seek and require You, rejoice and be glad in You; let such as love Your salvation say continually: "The Lord be magnified!"

17. (As for  me,) I am poor and needy, yet the Lord takes thought and plans for Me. You are My Help and My Deliverer, O My God, do not tarry!

2. Here, God van my heil, bedags roep ek, in die nag is dit voor U. 

3. Laat my gebed voor U aangesig kom, neig U oor tot my smeking.

(Psalm 40:10-18)

10. Ek het 'n blye boodskap van geregtigheid in die groot vergadering verkondig; kyk, My lippe bedwing Ek nie. Here, U weet dit. 

11. U geregtigheid bedek Ek nie binne-in my hart nie; van U trou en U heil spreek Ek; U goedertienheid en U trou verberg Ek nie vir die groot vergadering nie. 

12. U, O Here, sal U barmhartighede van My nie terughou nie; laat U goedertierenheid en U trou My altyddeur behoed.   

13. Want onheile sonder getal het My omring; My ongeregtighede het My ingehaal, en Ek kan nie sien nie; hulle is meer as die hare van My hoof, en My hart het My verlaat. 

14. Laat dit U behaag, Here, om My te red; Here, maak tog gou om My te help. 

15. Laat hulle wat My lewe soek, om dit weg te ruk, tesame beskaamd staan, en rooi van skaamte word; laat hulle wat behae het in My onheil, agteruitwyk en in die skande kom. 

16. Laat hulle wag vir My sê: "Ha, ha!" Vanweë hul beskaming verskrik wees. 

17. Laat almal wat U soek, in U vrolik en bly wees; laat die liefhebbers van U heil altyddeur sê: "Groot is die Here!"

18. Al is Ek ellendig en behoeftig - die Here dink aan My; U is My Hulp en My Redder; My God, vertoef tog nie!
