WORD OF THE DAY:

(Proverbs 23:6,7)

6. Eat not the bread of him who has a hard, grudging, and envious eye, neither desire his dainty foods;

7. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. As one who reckons, he says to you: "Eat and drink," yet his heart is not with you, (but is grudging the cost).

MESSAGE OF THE DAY:

PROVERBS, Chapter 3, Fifth section ...

1. English - (Amplified Bible Version).

(Proverbs 3:29-35)

29. Do not contrive or dig up or cultivate evil against your neighbour, who dwells trustingly beside you. 

30. Contend not with a man for no reason - when he had done you no wrong. 

31. Do not resentfully envy and be jealous of an unscrupulous, grasping man, and choose none of his ways. 

32. For the perverse are an abomination (extremely disgusting and detestable) to the Lord; but His confidential communion and secret counsel are with the (uncompromisingly) righteous, (those who are upright and in right standing with Him).

33. The curse of the Lord is in and on the house of the wicked, but He declares blessed (joyful and favoured with blessings) the home of the consistently righteous. 

34. Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favour to the low (in rank), the humble, and the afflicted. 

35. The wise shall inherit glory (all honour and good) but shame is the highest rank conferred on (self-confident) fools.

6. Eet nie die brood van een wat afgunstig is nie, en begeer nie sy lekker ete nie. 

7. Want wat hy in sy siel bereken, so is hy; "Eet en drink," sê hy vir jou, maar sy hart is nie met jou nie. (Hy bereken die koste van wat jy eet).

(Spreuke 3:29-35)

29. Bewerk geen onheil teen jou naaste terwyl hy vol vertroue by jou woon nie. 

30. Twis nie sonder oorsaak met 'n mens as hy jou geen kwaad gedoen het nie. 

31. Wees nie afgunstig op 'n man van geweld, en verkies geeneen van sy weë nie.  

32. Want die verkeerde is vir die Here 'n gruwel, maar Sy verborgenheid is met die opregtes.   

33. Die vloek van die Here is in die huis van die goddelose, maar hy seën die woning van die regverdiges. 

34. As dit spotters betref, spot Hy, maar aan die ootmoediges gee Hy genade. 

35. Die wyse sal eer beërwe, maar die dwase behaal skande. 

(God willing and by His marvellous grace and mercy, I will share some of the Proverbs with you, as often as I possibly can. /

As dit die wil van God is en deur Sy wonderbare genade en barmhartigheid, sal ek sommige van die Spreuke met u deel, so dikwels as wat ek moontlik kan).

Translation: "O Rock of ages, I hide by You only.  You are the Rock on which I build my future."
