WORD OF THE DAY:
(Acts 2:24)
"But God raised Him up, liberating Him from the pangs of death, seeing that it was impossible for Him to continue to be controlled or retained by it."
MESSAGE OF THE DAY:
MATTHIAS CHOSEN TO REPLACE JUDAS:
(Acts 1:12-26)
12. Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mountain called the Mount of the Olives (which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey away).
13. When they had entered Jerusalem, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter and John and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James were there.
14. All of these with their minds in full agreement devoted themselves steadfastly to prayer, (waiting together) with the woman and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.
15. Now on one of those days Peter arose among the brethren, the whole number of whom gathered together was about a hundred and twenty.
16. "Brethren," he said: "It was necessary that the Scripture be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit foretold by the lips of David, about Judas who acted as guide to those who arrested Jesus.
17. "For he was counted among us and received (by divine allotment) his portion in this ministry.
18. "Now this man Judas, obtained a piece of land with the (money paid him as a) reward for his treachery and wickedness, and falling headlong he burst open in the middle (of his body) and all his intestines poured forth.
19. "And all the residents of Jerusalem became acquainted with the facts, so that they called the piece of land in their own dialect - Akeldama, that is: 'Field of Blood.'
20. "For in the book of Psalms it is written: 'Let his place of residence become deserted and gloomy, and let there be no one to live in it;' and again: Let another take his position or overseership.
21. "Thus, one of the (other) men who have accompanied us (apostles) during all the time that the Lord went in and out among us,
22. "Beginning from the baptism of John at the outset, until the day when He was taken up from among us - one of these men must join with us and become a witness to testify to His resurrection."
23. So they accordingly proposed (nominatedi) two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus), and Matthias.
24. Then they prayed: "Lord, You know everyone's heart, (their thoughts, passions, desires, appetites, purposes and endeavours), indicate to us which of these two You have chosen.
25. "To take over the apostolic ministry, when Judas fell away and went astray, to go where he belongs, (to his own proper place.)"
26. Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles, (special messengers).

"Hom het God opgewek, nadat Hy die smarte van die dood ontbind het, omdat dit onmoontlik was dat Hy daardeur vasgehou sou word."
BOODSKAP VAN DIE DAG:
MATTHÍAS VERKIES OM JUDAS TE VERVANG:
(Handelinge 1:12-26))
12. Daarop draai hulle om na Jerusalem van die berg af wat genoem word Olyfberg, wat naby Jerusalem is, 'n Sabbatsreis ver.
13. En toe hulle daar kom, gaan hulle na die bovertrek waar hulle gewoond was om te vertoef, naamlik: Petrus en Jakobus en Johannes en Andreas, Filippus en Thomas, Bartholoméüs en Matthéüs, en Jakobus, die seun van Alféüs, en Simon, die Yweraar, en Judas, die seun van Jakobus.
14. Hulle het almal eendragtig volhard in gebed en smeking, saam met 'n aantal vroue en Maria, die moeder van Jesus, en met Sy broers.
15. En in dié dae het Petrus in die midde van die dissipels opgestaan - die skare van persone daar bymekaar was omtrent honderd-en-twintig - en gesê:
16. "Broeders, hierdie Skrif moes vervul word wat die Heilige Gees voorspel het deur die mond van Dawid, aangaande Judas wat die leier was van die wat Jesus gevange geneem het;
17. "Want hy is saam met ons getal gereken en het die lot van hierdie bediening verkry.
18. "Hy het dan 'n stuk grond gekoop met die loon van ongeregtigheid en het vooroor geval en oopgebars, en al sy ingewande het uitgestort;
19. "En dit het bekend geword aan al die inwoners van Jerusalem, sodat daardie stuk grond in hulle eie taal: Akeldáma genoem is, dit is: 'Bloedgrond.'
20. "Want daar staan geskrywe in die boek van die Psalms: 'Laat sy woonplek woes word, en laat daar geen inwoner in wees nie.'
21. "Van die manne dan wat saam met ons rondgegaan het, van die tyd waarin die Here Jesus by ons in- en uitgegaan het,
22. "Van die doop van Johannes af tot die dag dat Hy van ons opgeneem is - van hulle moet daar een saam met ons getuie word van Sy opstanding."
23. En hulle het twee voorgestel: Josef wat genoem word Bársabas, met die bynaam van Justus, en Matthías.
24. En hulle het gebid en gesê: "U Here, wat die harte van almal ken, wys uit hierdie twee die een aan wat U uitverkies het.
25. "Om die lot van hierdie bediening en apostelskap te verkry, waarvan Judas afgewyk het, om heen te gaan na sy eie plek."
26. Toe werp hulle die lot, en die lot het op Matthías geval; en hy is gekies om saam met die elf apostels te wees.
(God willing and by His marvelous grace and mercy, I will share the Word with you, as often as I possibly can. /
As dit die wil van God is en deur Sy wonderbare genade en barmhartigheid, sal ek die Woord met u deel, so dikwels as wat ek moontlik kan.)
