THE PARABLE OF THE PERSISTENT WIDOW / DIE GELYKENIS VAN DIE VOLHARDENDE WEDUWEE.

Monday 30 June 2014.
WORD OF THE DAY:
[Matthew 12:20] A bruised reed He will not break, and a smouldering (dimly burning) wick He will not quench, till He brings justice and a just cause to victory.

MESSAGE OF THE DAY:
THE PARABLE OF THE PERSISTENT WIDOW:
1. English - (Amplified Bible Version)
[Luke 18:1-8]
1. Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up, (faint, lose heart).
2. He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither reverenced and feared God nor respected or considered man.
3. "And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea: 'Protect and defend and grant me justice against my adversary.'
4. "And for some time he refused. But finally he said to himself: 'Even though I don't fear or reverence God or care and have consideration for man;
5. "'Yet because this widow continues to bother me, I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she gives me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she comes and rails on me or assaults  me!'"
6. And the Lord said: "Listen to what the unjust judge says.
7. "And will not (our just) God defend and protect and avenge His elect (His chosen ones), who cry out to Him day and night? Will He defer them and delay help on their behalf?
8. "I tell you, He will defend and protect and avenge them speedily. However, when the Son of man comes, will He find (persistence in) faith on the earth?"

Maandag 30 Junie 2014.

[Lukas 18:1-8]
1. En Hy het ook aan hulle 'n gelykenis vertel met die oog daarop dat 'n mens gedurig moet bid en nie moedeloos word nie;
3. "En daar was in daardie stad 'n weduwee, en sy het gedurig na hom gekom en gesê: 'Doen reg aan my teenoor my teëparty.'
5. "'Tog sal ek omdat hierdie weduwee my moeite gee, aan haar reg doen, sodat sy nie eindelik kom en my in die gesig slaan nie.'"
