SERMON ON THE MOUNT: Jesus Forbids Oaths. / BERGPREDIKASIE: Jesus Verbied Eedswerings.

Tuesday 19 January 2016.
WORD OF THE DAY:
(Matthew 8:17)
In this way what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet was fulfillef: "He took our weaknesses and carried our diseases."

MESSAGE OF THE DAY:
JESUS FORBIDS OATHS:
(Matthew 5:33-37)
33. "Again, you have heard that it was said to an older generation: 'Do not break an oath, but fulfill your vows to the Lord.'
34. "But I say to you, do not take oaths at all - not by heaven, because it is the throne of God,
35. "Not by earth, because it is His footstool, and not by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
36. "Do not take an oath by your head, because you are not able to make one hair white or black.
37. "Simply let your 'Yes be Yes,' and your 'No, No.' Anything beyond this comes from the evil one."

Dinsdag 19 Januarie 2016.

34. "Maar Ek sê vir julle: Sweer hoegenaamd nie - nie by die hemel nie, omdat dit die troon van God is;
35. "Ook nie by die aarde nie, omdat dit die voetbank van Sy voete is; ook nie by Jerusalem nie, omdat dit die stad is van die groot Koning;
36. "Ook by jou hoof mag jy nie sweer nie, omdat jy nie een haar swart of wit kan maak nie.
37. "Maar laat julle woord wees: 'Ja, ja'; 'Nee, nee.' Wat meer as dit is, is uit die bose."

(God willing and by His marvellous grace and mercy, I will share the Word with you as often as I possibly can. /
As dit die wil van God is en deur Sy wonderbare genade en barmhartigheid, sal ek die Woord met u deel so dikwels as wat ek moontlik kan.)
Many thanks to Matiana Navarez Baldera for the "OUR FATHER" text. Also thank you to Elna Le Hanie who posted it on Face Book.
Let us also end it off reverently as it should be: For Yours is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory. Forever. Amen.
(Matthew 6:9-13) [New King James Version]  ~ {I fail to understand why some translations leave out the latter part.}  Glory to God!
